Joshua Alston, better known as Jae Emanuel, resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. His love for music came at an early age listening to his mother and father Rev. and Mrs. Charles Alston, do ministry through song. He told himself at eight years old he wanted to do what his parents did, so his ministry began. Young Joshua started singing at talent shows, various church events or any other avenue where he could be used by God. At age 13, Josh wrote his first Gospel song entitled Hallelujah It’s Sunday. “Always praise with your heart” are the strong words his father spoke over his ministry. At the age of 16, Josh entered the Megafest Gospel Contest sponsored by Bishop Paul Morton. When Josh moved into the regional finals, he met greats like Kirk Franklin, V Michael McKay, Elvin Ross, and Byron Cage.

At the age of 18, tragedy struck when Josh lost his father. Out of pain and strife emerged the lyrics to one of his most powerful songs, Another Day. Since its introduction in local churches, this song has become the anthem of Jae Emanuel’s life and ministry, and it’s requested everywhere he goes! His highly anticipated album will be released Fall 2020. “I know God is using my music ministry to help the broken no matter what they look like or what they believe.” - Jae Emanuel
